Community Guidelines

These Community Guidelines set the standards for everyone on Onix. They are the “Community Guidelines” referenced in the Participant Terms of Use (Section 8) and the Creator Terms of Service (Section 4), and they are incorporated into both agreements. They weigh most heavily on guides, because guides publish and Participants rely on what they publish.

If anything here conflicts with the Terms of Use or the Creator Terms of Service, those agreements control. We update these Guidelines from time to time. Continued use of Onix after we post an update means you accept it.

1. Why these exist

Onix depends on trust. It works only if the people behind each onix are who they say they are, publish what they have the right to publish, and stand behind the guidance their onix gives, and if the people using an onix engage with it in good faith. Every rule below protects that chain of trust. When any link breaks, it weakens Onix for you and for everyone else on the platform.

2. Who this applies to, and how the words map

These Guidelines apply to anyone who uses Onix. Two roles carry different obligations, so the words matter.

A guide is a Creator as defined in the Creator Terms of Service: the human expert who contributes knowledge. Your onix is the Expert as defined in both agreements: the Personal Intelligence agent generated from the Content a guide provides. A Participant is a person who uses Onix, including anyone who subscribes to and talks with an onix.

The shared rules below apply to everyone. The guide expectations apply on top of them to anyone who publishes.

3. The shared rules: everyone on Onix

Do not use Onix, and do not upload, generate, or transmit any content, that:

  • you do not have the lawful right to use;
  • is false, inaccurate, intentionally misleading, or impersonates another person, or gives the false impression that it comes from or is endorsed by Onix or anyone else;
  • infringes or misappropriates anyone’s intellectual property, privacy rights, or rights of publicity;
  • is defamatory, harassing, bullying, threatening, or abusive;
  • is hateful or discriminatory on the basis of race, sex, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation, age, or any other protected ground;
  • is sexually explicit, pornographic, or gratuitously violent;
  • is harmful to minors in any way, or targeted at minors;
  • promotes violence, self-harm, or physical harm against any group or individual; or
  • is illegal, or encourages conduct that would break the law.

Onix decides, at its discretion, whether content crosses these lines.

You also will not:

  • attack, overload, or interfere with Onix systems or the networks they run on, including denial-of-service attacks;
  • attempt to gain unauthorized access to Onix or bypass any access controls;
  • scrape, data-mine, or use bots to harvest content or information about other guides or Participants;
  • reverse engineer, decompile, or copy the structure of the Onix Solution, or attempt to discover its source code;
  • use any Output to train other machine learning models, or use Onix to build a competing product or service;
  • run vulnerability, penetration, or similar testing against Onix; or
  • remove or obscure Onix’s copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices, or use Onix’s marks without written permission.

4. Respect privacy by design

Privacy is not just a policy we promise to honor, it is a principle we build the system around. Onix is designed to keep Participant conversations private and to limit how they can be accessed or used. Do not attempt to circumvent, weaken, or route around these privacy protections. Working around them undermines the trust people place in Onix. Do not upload or transmit other people’s sensitive personal information, including health, financial, biometric, precise-location, or government-identifier data, or information about children under 13.

5. What we expect of guides

As a guide, your credibility is what Participants rely on. These sit on top of the shared rules.

Represent yourself honestly. Use your real identity, real credentials, and real professional history. Do not misstate your qualifications, licenses, or affiliations, and do not build an onix of another person without their written authorization and the rights to do it.

Own what you upload. Bring only Content you have the lawful right to use, with every consent and license needed for Onix to build and run your onix from it. You are solely responsible for what you contribute.

Keep your onix accurate. Your onix is generated from the Content you provide, and you are responsible for reviewing and validating what it says before Participants rely on it and on an ongoing basis. If your view changes or your field moves, update your corpus. Outdated guidance still carries your name, so the risk of it is yours. Your name is what people are trusting.

Hold a professional standard, and keep people safe. Onix launched in health and wellness, where guidance carries real consequences.

  • Stay inside your competence. Give guidance within your own expertise and qualifications, and do not let your onix present itself as licensed or credentialed where you are not.
  • Complement care, do not replace it. Onix is provided for educational information purposes and is not a substitute for professional advice or a professional-client relationship, as the Terms of Use make clear to every Participant. Do not frame your onix as diagnosis, treatment, or emergency care.
  • Do not disable safety behavior. Do not configure your onix to circumvent, suppress, or undermine platform safety behavior.
  • Meet the bar you would meet in person. If you would not say it to a person sitting across from you, do not publish it through your onix.

6. What we ask of Participants

  • Use an onix for information and support, not as a replacement for your own judgment or for professional advice. Verify anything important with a qualified professional before you act on it.
  • Do not misuse an onix to produce content that breaks the shared rules above.
  • Keep your account credentials to yourself, and tell us if you suspect unauthorized access.
  • Tell us if an onix produces something that violates these Guidelines.

7. If you break these Guidelines

Onix may remove content, suspend or terminate access, suspend or remove an onix, and take appropriate legal action for any violation of these Guidelines or the agreements that incorporate them. For Participants, this is set out in Section 15 of the Terms of Use. For guides, it is set out in Section 12 of the Creator Terms of Service. For serious or urgent issues, including security and safety, we may act first, without prior notice, and explain after.

These Community Guidelines supplement and are governed by the Participant Terms of Use and the Creator Terms of Service. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meaning given in those agreements.
