What our research is exploring
Taste is hard at any size
Large models tend to converge on the same average answer, and recent work suggests good judgment comes from training on real outcomes, not from scale.
Same judgment, fresh words
We look for consistency in meaning, so an expert's model holds the same judgment across conversations without repeating itself word for word.
Where small models fall short
Off-the-shelf small models hold less knowledge, drift from their assigned persona, and absorb new facts poorly through standard fine-tuning.
What we build differently
We separate the expert's knowledge from the model's reasoning and voice, and we measure each model against the real expert's own decisions.
Private and portable
A model built for one expert keeps their material out of shared systems and is small enough to run on a phone or laptop.
Decide with calibrated confidence
Small decision models report how sure they are, so they can answer when confident and pass the rest to the expert or a larger model.
