Expert in Residence

You will bring practitioner judgment into how Onix builds, so the platform sets both our users and our experts up for success.

Onix is the Personal Intelligence platform. Each onix is a small language model trained on a single expert’s private corpus. 20+ founding experts are live in App Store early access, including Dave Rabin, Mark Sisson, Ashley Koff, William Li, and Elissa Epel.

The platform is growing fast: protocols, guided journeys, integrations. Each one puts an expert’s judgment to work over the course of weeks in someone’s life, and building them well takes the kind of insider knowledge that only comes from practice. Someone who has run a protocol with a real patient knows where it holds up and where it breaks down.

That is this role. You are a licensed health practitioner working part-time alongside the product team, in person from our office in Old Montreal. The person who fits has spent years with patients or clients and can tell within seconds whether a plan is realistic for a specific person. You are curious about how world-class products get built, not only about the clinical content.

What You Will Do

• Review app flows, protocols, journeys, and agent outputs with the product, design, and iOS team.
• Help optimize the product, features, and user journeys to support and empower our experts and our users.
• Curate data and review agent outputs against your own clinical judgment to improve our AI R&D and model development.
• Work with our studio team to set our experts up for success, from communications and project plans through expert-led educational and UGC content.

Who You Are

You move between clinical expertise, product mindset, guidelines, and plain language in both directions. You are comfortable with an undefined role.

You have:

• A license to practice, with hands-on patient or client experience in public and private settings: dietitian, nurse, physiotherapist, kinesiologist, psychologist, or physician, among others.
• Years with patients or clients, and the instinct to tell within seconds whether a plan is realistic for a specific person.
• Curiosity about how world-class products get built, not only about the clinical content.

You are:

• Comfortable with an undefined role.
• Direct. You flag a plan that will not hold up before it ships, not after.
• Willing to move between clinical language and plain language, in both directions.

This Role is NOT For You If:

• You want a remote job. This role is in person from Old Montreal.
• You want a fixed, fully defined job description. The role stays undefined by design.
• You want to review clinical content only and skip the product work.
• You want a full-time role. This is part-time, alongside the product team.

What Success Looks Like

• Product decisions change because of what you flagged.
• Protocols and journeys ship that hold up clinically over weeks, not just in a demo.
• The quality bar for agent outputs is measurably higher, and you helped set it.
• Our experts are better prepared, and the studio team relies on your read before things go out.

How to Apply

Download Onix from the App Store using invite code OnixCareers. Try several onixes with the questions you would actually get from a patient or client.

Then send us two things:

1. Your critical read of the app. Name one place an onix gave advice your patient would not follow, and say why. Name one thing missing that you would have wanted in clinic. Name the first thing you would change.
2. Two short clips in the style of educational UGC, 60 to 90 seconds each, shot the way you would post to a feed. Teach one useful thing to the camera, within your own scope, on a topic our experts work on: parenting and child development, thyroid health, weight management, cardiac recovery, menopause, or addiction recovery, for example. Use your phone camera, shoot vertical, and one take is fine. We want to see how you present, not a production.
